Combustion method
Definition: burn the fabric on an open fire, observe the deformation of its fiber after heating, the flame condition, the difficulty and speed of burning, the smell and color emitted, the shape of the burnt ash and residue, and the hardness for identification.
1. Simple combustion method
Cotton, which burns quickly when it meets fire, is yellow flame with a slight smell of gray and white smoke and burning paper. The charred embers are soft and dark gray.
Hemp fiber: similar to cotton, but the ash is grayish white.
Wool, which does not delay combustion, shrinks first in case of fire, and foams after burning. The flame is orange. It has the smell of burning protein. It burns faster than cotton, and has more ashes. It is in the shape of shapeless black brown. It can be crushed by hand and becomes a powder.
Silk: The burning shape is similar to that of wool fiber. It is rolled into a ball first. The burning speed is faster than that of wool. The taste of protein is smaller than that of wool. It is brown globular after burning.
Viscose fiber: similar to cotton, burning faster than cotton, yellow flame, burning paper smell, ash is gray or light gray.
Taylon: When burning, molten material drops, and the flame is blue. There is black smoke at the upper end, which is slightly fragrant, and the ash is hard, which will break when pressed by fingers.
Nylon: It is not easy to burn. It shrinks first when it sees fire. The molten material is transparent gel. It can be pulled out when it is hot. It has the smell of celery. Ashes are not fragile.
2. Combustion coloration
The fiber type is close to the wet color of the residue form after leaving the flame combustion odor in the flame
Tencel fiber does not melt, does not shrink, and burns rapidly. It continues to burn. Paper smell is gray, black, gray, blue and blue
Modal fiber does not melt, does not shrink, and burns rapidly. It continues to burn. Paper smell is gray, black, gray, blue and gray
Soybean protein fiber shrinks, burns and does not melt, and has black smoke, which is not easy to delay burning and singeing, and tastes crisp, black, gray-brown
The bamboo fiber does not melt, does not shrink, burns rapidly and continues to burn. The paper smell is gray, black, gray, blue and gray
The chitin fiber does not melt, does not shrink, burns rapidly and continues to burn. The paper smell is gray-black, gray-black
